Brady Hoke.
Hoke used to be a linebacker at Ball State, and he was the head coach of their football team from 2003 to 2008. Hoke is currently looking for a job, as he has not found a home after being fired from Michigan at the end of 2014. Hoke was rumored to be interested in the East Carolina job, so this job would be about the same tier and would be a familiar place for him to coach.
Ball State is 33-29 in the past five seasons under Lembo. The Cardinals were 3-9 this season and 5-7 in 2014 after a 10-win year in 2013.
