No. 1 Kansas (14-2, 3-1) suffered its first loss in conference play in Morgantown, West Virginia to the No. 11 Mountaineers (15-1, 4-0) by a margin of 74-63. Their press and defense got the job done as the Jayhawks turned the ball over 22 times and only shot about 42 percent from the field. Perry Ellis led the Jayhawks in scoring with 21 points while Frank Mason had 12 and Wayne Selden had 11.

West Virginia's Jaysean Paige had a great night with 26 points, five steals, and four rebounds to help the Mountaineers get the upset. WVU shot a horrendous 33 percent from the field, but got to the free throw line 47 times, which is how it pulled off the win.
