Coming off a surprising Super Bowl run, the Denver Broncos will be tasked with attempting to defend the crown in 2016-17.

While the defense will stay intact for the most part (if things work out for Von Miller), Brock Osweiler is a free agent and rumors continue swirling on Peyton Manning's potential retirement. Manning isn't expected back with Denver even if he doesn't retire and Osweiler's price could skyrocket on the open market. So what would be the Broncos backup plan?
According to reports, Robert Griffin III:

Another option could be Colin Kaepernick, per the Denver Post:
Most fascinating twist will be if Osweiler's market explodes. Would #Broncos go after project like RG III or Kap? I never rule anything out

As a rookie, RGIII threw for 3,200 yards, 20 touchdowns and five interceptions, while rushing for 800 yards and seven touchdowns as a rookie before tearing his ACL and dealing with a litany of issues in Washington.
Bother Griffin and Kaepernick have a big arms, are athletic and could be ideal fits in Gary Kubiak's offense.
If Denver can't get a deal done with Osweiler, we'll see if they target either of these one-time starters.
