Henderson announced the couple's engagement on social media, sharing the news shortly after nearly adding another major championship to her decorated golf career.
The 28-year-old Canadian star finished runner-up at the Evian Championship after losing to Ryu Hae-ran in a playoff.
Now she has something considerably happier to celebrate.
Henderson has been one of the LPGA Tour's most successful players since turning professional in 2014. She has won 14 times on the tour, including two major championships.
Her most recent victory came at the 2025 CPKC Women's Open. Henderson will attempt to defend that title when the tournament is played in Edmonton next month.
Castro, meanwhile, is attempting to make his way to the major leagues with the Twins.
The 26-year-old right-handed pitcher signed with Minnesota in 2024 following a college career that included stops at Purdue and Tulane.
Castro is currently pitching for the Triple-A St. Paul Saints. He owns a 2-1 record and 4.13 ERA this season.
Henderson and Castro did not announce a wedding date.
For Henderson, though, the engagement gives her another reason to celebrate during what has already been an eventful summer.
