Cameron Crowe, a 24-year-old pro on the PBA Tour, was arrested Thursday in Indiana on drug-related charges during a traffic stop, per TMZ.

According to reports, Crowe was taken into custody by Carmel police and later booked into the Hamilton County Jail just before 2 p.m. Authorities say he was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of cocaine. He was later released the same day.

The arrest comes at a particularly awkward moment.

Crowe is one of the bowlers featured in the upcoming HBO documentary series Born to Bowl, produced by Ben Stiller. The five-part series, set to debut March 16, follows several stars of the sport and is expected to give bowling fans a rare behind-the-scenes look at life on tour.

Now Crowe's situation is complicating things.

The PBA confirmed it is aware of the arrest and announced Crowe has been placed on an indefinite suspension while the legal process plays out.

Crowe has not publicly commented on the situation.

The documentary, which will also feature top bowlers like Kyle Troup, Anthony Simonsen, E.J. Tackett and Jason Belmonte, is still scheduled to roll out weekly through mid-April.

But one of its featured stars now has a very different storyline unfolding off the lanes.
