'Drake Curse' Continues After The Rapper Loses $565,000 Betting On Tyson Fury

Ahead of the marquee matchup Tyson Fury vs. Oleksander Usyk heavyweight boxing match, Drake placed his bets on Fury winning, which ultimately cost the rapper $565,000.

Drake, who is known for showing off his big bets on major sporting events, posted the wager on his Instagram story before the fight.

To note, when looking at the odds, Fury was the -130 favorite, while Usyk was the slight underdog at +110, so by placing the $565k bet, it would have pocketed Drake over a million dollars. Nevertheless, after losing, many are correlating the loss to the "Drake curse."

As most are aware, there is superstition regarding the idea Drake's bets always seem to lose. That is to say, he is viewed as a "bandwagon fan," and whenever the music artist starts to show his support for a team or athlete, there is speculation over the fact, the opposition always comes out the victor more often than not.

For example, just in the fighting events alone, there are multiple losses recorded, such as when the Toronto native let $2 million Canadian dollars ($1.5 million USD) go down the drain by betting on Israel Adesanya to beat Alex Pereira at UFC 281, in which the middleweight champion at the time (Adesanya) lost.

Furthermore, just recently Drake put up a $615,000 bet in another boxing match, as he had his money on Francis Ngannou to defeat Anthony Joshua, and it didn't go his way either.

Then even in an amateur match between Youtuber's, Drake put up $890K betting that Logan Paul would knock out Dillon Danis, but the match ended in disqualification.

Not to mention there are countless other bets, that the Stake sponsored rapper lost big money on, which have all resulted in a meme.

In regards to this fight from May 18, Usyk became the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the world in the last 25 years (1999; Lennox Lewis def. Evander Holyfield). So next time Drake posts a big bet, it might be in the sports gambler's best interest to pick the opposite.

Needless to say, Drake isn't sweating as he apparently has "Money to Blow," which is also the name of the hit song from 2009, which he raps about, "I got money to blow."

To mention, fans correlated Drake's gambling habit to his current rap battle feud between him and rapper Kendrick Lamar.

Kendrick has a lyric in one of the diss tracks on Drake, "Meet the Grahams" that says, "Dear Sandra, your son got some habits... Dear Dennis [Drake's father], I'm blamin' you for all his gamblin' addictions. Psychopath intuition, the man who like to play victim."
