One of the most hyped sporting events of the year may have turned out to be one of the biggest letdowns. Around 300 million viewers turned on their TV's, grabbed some popcorn, and opened up their Netflix accounts to watch 58-year-old Mike Tyson and 27-year-old Jake Paul battle it out for eight (2-minute) rounds.

However, for much of the fight fans had to deal with constant buffering issues, as the Netflix servers evidently weren't prepared for all of the viewership.

And as for the fight itself, it didn't provide much entertainment.
While Tyson appeared to hold his own at first, as the rounds went on the former heavyweight champion certainly showed his age.
To point out, Tyson may have also been battling a knee injury, as he was wearing a knee brace and appeared to lose his balance in the later rounds.

Even so, it didn't seem like it was a fair fight as even the announcers pointed out that Paul didn't fully unleash on Tyson. This may have been out of respect for the legendary boxer, who became heavyweight champion of the world around a dozen years before Paul was even born.
Unfortunately, the fight never really lived up to all the marketing and publicity, and some fans have been echoing the sentiment that the fight was 'scripted.'

And what made it even worse is that fans couldn't enjoy the stream with all the lag.

Furthermore, another reason for disappointment, according to BetMGM, over 70% of bets placed predicted Tyson to be the outright winner. So needless to say, a lot of people lost some money.

All in all, even though Tyson went the distance, there probably won't be a rematch. No matter what, both fighters will certainly enjoy their big payday as the older boxer took in around $20 million, while the winner made around double that.

The noise surrounding Paul fighting someone his own age is now only going to ring louder.
No matter what though, for the rest of his life Paul does have the bragging rights of defeating 'Iron Mike' Tyson (at 58 years old).
