AP Poll week 9: Big 12 at the top

The Big 12 has the top two teams in the country this week and that has set them up for an epic Monday night showdown. No. 1 Kansas and No. 2 Oklahoma will play in Allen Fieldhouse for what should be a sold out crowd. Iowa State and West Virginia are the only other two Big 12 teams in the poll as Kansas' win over Baylor knocked the Bears out of it.

Maryland and Virginia creep up a spot each with the Michigan State loss dropping the Spartans to No. 5 while Villanova made the biggest leap of the week moving up five spots to No. 11 after a 31-point win over Xavier who is actually in the spot ahead of the Wildcats. Butler had the worst week of ranked teams dropping down nine spots to No. 18 after losing at home to Providence and at Xavier.

UNC and Arizona are also steadily climbing in the polls and could make some moves after the Kansas-Oklahoma game. Miami has been a nice surprise this year and the Canes will undoubtedly push some teams in ACC play. Duke is a little lower than it's used to being, but with the maturing of Brandon Ingram the Blue Devils could very well be on the rise.
