Upon draining a three-pointer in the third quarter of Iowa's 67-58 win over cross-state rival Iowa State last night, Clark surpassed the 3,000 point benchmark in her NCAA career.

While this scoring feat is incredible in itself — due to the fact that Clark is only the 15th player in NCAA history (male or female) to reach the 3,000 point milestone — Clark doing so Wednesday night is even more impressive, because it made her the first basketball player in NCAA Division I history to record 3,000 points along with at least 750 rebounds and 750 assists.

Clark surpassing the 3,000 point mark in Iowa is fitting, since it's not only her home state, but also the lion's share of her points have been scored at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, her home court. Yet, Wednesday's road game was historic for Clark in another way: according to Sports Illustrated, Clark had never won a game at Iowa State before. Knowing the competitor that Clark is, she is likely just as happy about crossing that off of her list as she is about the 3,000 point milestone.

Although Clark is used to receiving attention from fellow celebrities by now — whether that be NBA Hall of Famers, WNBA icons, or famous actors —  it wasn't until last night that she received a shoutout from a legendary rapper.

Minutes after Clark drained her record-breaking three-pointer last night, Lil Wayne posted this on X: "Caitlin Clark congrats on 3k!!! U a fkn dogg dogg!!".

In case one post wasn't enough, Lil Wayne then doubled-down on his admiration, replying to that initial post and saying: "@CaitlinClark congrats on the 3k and again, u are a fkn dogg dogg!!!! Amazing."

Clark made sure to show her appreciation for the shoutout as well, responding to Lil Wayne's two posts saying, "Thank you !!!!"

It's a good time to be Caitlin Clark right now. Not only is she setting milestones, reeling in celebrity praise, and her Iowa team rebounded from an upset loss earlier this year with a six game win streak, but with every point made, she inches closer to the all-time NCAA scoring record — and it seems inevitable that she'll get there.

Although all Clark probably cares about right now is her Iowa team returning to the NCAA Championship Game, which they lost to LSU last season. Only time will tell which of Clark's wishes will be granted.
