For the ninth consecutive season by a player on the Texas A&M women's basketball team, and for the second year in a row for Aggie point guard Chennedy Carter, she was named to First-Team All-Southeastern Conference.

While leading the Aggie women to a 23-6 regular season record, Carter finished ninth in scoring among Division I basketball players with 22.5 points per game and led the SEC in scoring once again. She poured in 23.4 points per game during conference play, then added 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists for good measure. Carter is an outstanding player and a critical component to the lady Aggies' success this season. She has the potential to be the greatest player in the team's history, if she isn't already.
Stuck to the script ✍️@ChennedyCarter named First Team All @SEC for the second consecutive year. She's the first player in Texas A&M history to be named to the conference's first team in her freshman and sophomore seasons.

The Aggies women's basketball team hasn't seen this type of phenomenal talent since Aggie superstar guard Courtney Walker, who left the program in 2016 as the Aggies first three-time All-American. She is Texas A&M's all-time leading scorer (1,989) and was selected in the 2016 WNBA draft by the Atlanta Dream.
Another great Texas A&M guard that Chennedy can possibly surpass is Sydney Colson, who played for the Aggies from 2008-2011. Although she only scored 852 points for her college career, she led Texas A&M to the program's only national championship in 2011 by beating the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
That chase is going to be on hold, however. Carter underwent a minor surgery to repair a broken finger on her shooting hand, an injury she sustained in the season finale against Arkansas. She's going to miss the entire SEC Tournament. She is expected to be back for the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Carter's run is arguably the best ever at the point guard position not only because of her exceptional talent, but the women's college basketball competition that she's playing against.
The sophomore guard can potentially shatter most of Walker's career records at the university by the time she graduates. At this rate, she is likely to not only break Walkers 3-peat record of first-team All-SEC honors, but she is on pace to be the all-time leading scorer in Aggie history as Carter reached 1400 points in just two seasons. She only needs 589 points, and she will probably hit this number mid-way through her junior year.

She is having another great year that still isn't finished being written under head coach Gary Blair. Just imagine that she hasn't reached her peak yet, she's only going to get better.
