Tuesday was a rough night for Dan Hurley and his UConn men's basketball team. Not only were the Huskies defeated by the Creighton Bluejays by a score of 85-66, but Hurley (supposedly) threatened to physically assault a Creighton student after the game ended.

On Tuesday night, a Creighton sports fan account on X released footage of Hurley walking off the court following the stunning loss to Creighton, pointing to a fan in Creighton's student section, and saying what appears to be, "I will knock you out."
WOW. We have received footage of UCONN Coach Dan Hurley telling a Creighton student “I will knock you out”
I’ve always respected what Hurley has done on the court. But this is a bad too far☹️ pic.twitter.com/UAsvfPkuJV

Although it's impossible to know whether that's exactly what Hurley said, an amateur lip reading attempt combined with the muted audio that the video provides makes it pretty clear that Hurley threatened violence to the anonymous Creighton student.
While there's no excuse for a 51 year old man threatening to separate a college student from consciousness, Hurley — whose UConn team has suffered 19 straight road losses to ranked opponents — seems to have been provoked by the Creighton fans throughout the upset defeat.
One X user posted a photo of a fan holding a poster of Hurley crying, a brief video of Creighton's student section shouting "F*** Dan Hurley" during Tuesday's game, and which wrote, 'Dan Hurley has more National Championship Rings than wins in Omaha. Hurley is now 0-4 at CHI Health Center'.
There's also the fact that Creighton's student section stormed the court after the final buzzer of their team's upset victory.
Hurley appeared to have calmed down by the time of his postgame press conference, where he said, "We kind of ran into a buzzsaw there... we ran into a team that, you know, obviously the environment, and the opportunity, and, you know, they caught us tonight."
Hurley was certainly correct about getting caught.
When asked by CT Insider if UConn reviewed the video of Hurley's threat or had a reaction, a spokesperson for the athletic department said, "We have no comment.Perhaps Hurley will issue a statement addressing the video prior to UConn's home game against Villanova on Thursday. Regardless, threatening a college kid certainly isn't a good look for UConn's head coach.
