Derek Willis public intoxication details have emerged and they are not pretty

Not a good look for the rising senior.

Kentucky forward and rising senior Derek Willis was arrested over the weekend for public intoxication and details were scarce at the beginning.

It seems that the details are now coming out and they do not favor Willis at all. According to the Courier-Journal's Jon Hale, Willis was found drunk "laying in the middle of the street." Additional details from the arrest citation obtained by Hale don't exactly paint a pretty picture either.

The deputy arrived to find Willis on the ground outside the open driver's side door of a vehicle and reported a "strong odor of associated with alcohol" coming from the inside of the vehicle and Willis.

The deputy reported Willis said he had "a lot" to drink and could not advise where he was other than to say in "northern Kentucky" after being woken up. The citation reports Willis had extremely slurred speech, was unsteady on his feet and "was a danger to himself and others."

This comes days before his 21st birthday on June 21st. Last season, Willis received extended minutes for the first time in his career, averaging 7.7 points and 4.0 rebounds in 18.6 minutes per contest. He hit on 44.2 percent of his three-point attempts and reached double-figures 11 times.
