Five-star power forward E.J. Montgomery spoke with 247Sports about his recruitment and how he plans on getting the ball rolling so he can end up at the school of his choice next season. Right now, Montgomery has 11 schools he likes, but his father did say that they plan on cutting that down soon.
"We are going to narrow that list down in a week or two," Montgomery Sr. said. "We are going to chop it down to five."
Those schools he likes are Duke, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, Georgetown, USC, Georgia, Clemson and UCLA. The young man also said that he is going to Duke on a visit, but he has to figure out an exact date.
"We are going to go to Duke," Montgomery said. "We have a couple of dates with them. We haven't pinpointed that date yet, but it is next month. We just have to see which one fits. He gave us a couple of dates around some home games they have."
The 6-foot-10, 200-pound forward out of Georgia is ranked as the No. 3 power forward, No. 12 overall recruit in the class of 2018 and the top recruit in the state of Georgia according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He also has offers from Baylor, Florida State, Georgetown, Miami and USC among others.
