Kansas and Maryland kept it close in the first half with a score of 36-34 in favor of the Jayhawks. However, KU would pull away in the second half like it's done most of the year. The Jayhawks ended up with a 79-63 win thanks to shooting 46.8 percent and made 18 of their 21 free throws to seal the deal.
Perry Ellis had 27 points to lead all scorers while Wayne Selden had 19 points, seven rebounds and six assists to round out the stat sheet. Frank Mason had 11 points, five boards and four assists from the point guard spot and Landen Lucas chipped in 14 points and 11 rebounds for a huge double-double.
Kansas will face No. 2 Villanova on Saturday to lay claim to the South Region bracket.
