No. 2 Kansas (24-4, 12-3) took a trip to Waco to face the No. 19 Baylor Bears (20-8, 9-6) and came out with a tight 66-60 lead. Baylor led for much of the second half until about the last minute when Kansas decided it was winning time. With some help from a huge offensive board and gutsy call from coach Bill Self to go to a lob play up one with only 1:29 left in the game, the Jayhawks were able to pull out the victory.

The win came from Frank Mason's game-high 19 points coupled with 15 points from Perry Ellis and 11 points from Devonte' Graham. Kansas was an even 50 percent shooting from the floor and hit 42 percent of its shots from the perimeter as well. That was good enough to overcome getting outrebounded by the Bears and put Kansas one win away from clinching another Big 12 regular season title.
