Kentucky forward arrested for public intoxication

Ten days before his 21st birthday too.

Kentucky has been having a quiet summer for the most part. It brought in one of the best —- the second-best by most accounts —- recruiting classes for 2016 and is set to reload on talent. Well, it looks like some of that talent might be getting some reps sooner than they thought.

According to Justin Rowland at Rivals, forward Derek Willis was arrested last night for public intoxication in Boone County. The arrest record says that Willis' girlfriend's mother paid his bail and he was released. Coach John Calipari has not commented on the arrest yet.

The 6'9" Willis averaged 7.7 points, 0.8 blocks and four rebounds a game on 48.2 percent shooting overall and 44.2 percent shooting from beyond the arc. He turned out to be a spark plug off the bench and gave the offense a boost when it needed it the most throughout the season.
