Former five-star recruit and likely NBA first-rounder could miss significant time after surgery

This can't be good.

Lonnie Walker was the prized recruit in Miami's 2017 recruiting class and is one of the best recruits coach Jim Larranage has ever lured to campus. The 6'4", 206-pound guard out of Pennsylvania committed to Miami back in November of last year and has been one of the most anticipated players in Miami basketball history. Unfortunately, he could be missing some time at the beginning of the season.

According to a report from the Associated Press, Walker has torn the meniscus in his right knee and will require surgery. There is no timetable on a return for Walker as that will be determined after the surgery. Walker was a five-star recruit in the class of 2017 and was ranked as the No. 12 recruit overall and the No. 2 shooting guard in the class according to ESPN.
