The ACC won the annual ACC/Big Ten Challenge and that was in part thanks to the effort from Louisville against Purdue on Wednesday night. The Cardinals got a 71-64 win over the No. 15 Boilermakers to get to 6-1 on the year.
Only two Cardinals scored in double figures with Mangok Mathiang notching 11 points and eight rebounds while Ray Spalding scored 11 points and nine rebounds off the bench. Purdue had a 14-point 11-rebound double-double from Caleb Swanigan and 13 points from P.J. Thompson, but it wasn't quite enough.
Louisville shot a solid 48 percent from the floor while it kept Purdue to about 36 percent shooting. The Cards will play at Grand Canyon on Sunday.
