Louisville opens up ACC play with win over Wake Forest

No. 18 Louisville (12-2, 1-0) opened ACC play with a huge home win over Wake Forest (9-4, 0-1). It was a tighter game than most people anticipated and thanks to freshman Donovan Mitchell, the Cards were able to pull out a win at the KFC Yum! Center. Mitchell scored a game-high 18 points and had some clutch shots near the end of the game to pull out the win.

Damion Lee and Chinanu Onuaku each scored 12 points and the Cardinals kept the Demon Deacons to only 39 percent shooting from the floor. Trey Lewis wasn't initially going to play in this game, but he toughed out his ankle sprain and gave the Cards nine points off the bench in 22 minutes.

Louisville next plays at N.C. State on Thursday.
