One school is reportedly out of the running for No. 5 overall recruit Mitchell Robinson

Robinson is a five-star, 7-foot center.

Five-star center Mitchell Robinson had originally signed to play at Western Kentucky in a massive recruiting upset, but Robinson has since been granted his release from the school. Robinson is now taking visits to other schools, and it looks like one prospective school is now out of the running.

ESPN's Jeff Goodman is reporting that LSU is no longer an option for the Louisiana native, and that Robinson is scheduled for a visit to Kansas this weekend.

As of now, it looks like the Jayhawks are starting to emerge as the favorites for the 7-foot center. However, it is currently unknown on if Robinson will be eligible for the upcoming 2017-18 season. Robinson had signed and enrolled at Western Kentucky before he was granted his release, and he would need to petition the NCAA in order to regain his eligibility after transferring.

Robinson is rated as the No. 5 overall recruit of the 2017 class by the 247Sports player rankings.
