Malik Newman could be headed to a powerhouse in the Big 12

Looks like someone's team is about to get a whole lot better in two seasons.

Former five-star point guard Malik Newman is on the move after deciding to transfer out of Mississippi State after only one season. Jon Rothstein had the first report on where he might end up going and it sounds like he could be headed to the superpower of the Big 12.

Newman averaged 11.3 points in his freshman season and showed flashes of brilliance, but nothing more than that. He will have to sit out a year wherever he goes per NCAA transfer rules. That means Newman will go from being a potential one-and-done to being at least a three-year player somewhere, which most certainly was not in his plans.
