Maryland and Michigan State were in a tight game in the semifinals of the Big Ten Conference Tournament and the Spartans were up 64-61 after two big free throws from Denzel Valentine. The Terps still had a chance to score and got the ball to Melo Trimble for a half court heave, but it fell incredibly short.

It might have fallen short because Trimble was fouled on the shot, but nothing was called. Here's the play in real time and then again in a replay with a closer look:
That looks like Trimble should have had three free throws and the chance to put this into overtime. Yes, it's the last play of the game and the refs are unlikely to call it, but that was one of the few cases that should actually get called. Maryland will now have the rest of the weekend and some of next week to prepare for its NCAA Tournament bid.
