Miami (13-5, 3-2 ACC) hosted the N.C. State (13-7, 4-3 ACC) Wolfpack and it was a tight game. The closeness of the game seemed to have gotten to a Miami fan as he pushed N.C. State's Cat Barber after a dead ball.

Barber gave him a look and there seemed to be an exchange of words, but no one knows what was said. Canes coach Jim Larranaga apologized to Wolfpack coach Mark Gottfried for the incident that happened in the last minute of the game. Miami won the game 65-60.
