Five-star forward Reggie Perry back on the market after recent decommit

This is a bummer.

Five-star forward Reggie Perry had been committed to Arkansas since last August, but now the big man is backing off that pledge, according to Scout. The 6'9", 225-pound forward out of Thomasville, Ga. explained his decision to Scout.

"Unfortunately, I had to decomit tonight with Coach [Anderson] because of personal health issues with my father," Perry said. "I have to do what is best for me and my family."

Perry did not give another list of suitors, but if he wants to stay close to his family then Georgia and Georgia Tech are likely to be options for him. He would easily become the best recruit in either of those classes as he was with Arkansas. He's ranked as the No. 17 player overall and the No. 7 power forward in the class of 2018 by ESPN.

Perry had a pretty nice spring, averaging 17 points and 8.4 rebounds through eight adidas Uprising games. He'll only impress more when his high school season comes around and he's a perfect sized power forward for the college game so the ranking will be warranted by the time he steps foot on campus.
