Report: McDonald's All-American to skip college because of controversial high school transcripts

It looks like he will follow the path of Brandon Jennings.

Terrance Ferguson is a five-star guard who originally committed to Alabama, but had to back off the commitment when it became known that he might not academically qualify. That was because his school in Texas —- Prime Prep Academy —- was a heavily scrutinized school by the NCAA and was shut down.

The school has created issues for almost every student-athlete looking to play at the next level. It happened to Brandon Jennings and Emmanuel Mudiay and it looks like that will be the case for Ferguson. Those first two guys both decided to play overseas for a year before going into the NBA Draft and now it seems Ferguson will do the same so that he can become eligible for the Draft in 2017.

Ferguson ended up committing to Arizona after his initial decommitment from Bama, but it looks like the Wildcats won't get his services either. He's taking some Under Armour money and heading overseas according to 247Sports' Jerry Meyer. It's a chance for Ferguson to avoid any sort of investigation from the NCAA and to make some money before playing with the big boys.
