Matz Stockman is a legit seven-footer for the Louisville Cardinals and was described as a "project" by coach Rick Pitino. It seems the project never found a fruitful ending as he will transfer now. But that's not even the end of it as he will transfer to Minnesota, according to The Courier-Journal, where Richard Pitino —- son of Rick —- coaches.

Stockman never averaged more than 6.2 minutes per game and averaged 1.7 points per game while appearing in only 18 games this past season. The Norway native left a message for the Cardinals fans on a U of L official release.
"I've had a great time at Louisville the last three years. I've learned a lot, gotten to know a great many people and have become very close with our coaches and players. I'm incredibly grateful for my time here. I've improved a lot since I first arrived on campus and I will be forever grateful to Coach Pitino, the coaching staff and for everyone involved around our team. However, I've been looking for an opportunity to play quality minutes for a long time now and I think this will be a great situation for me."
Pitino said in the same release that transferring to Minnesota is "a great move" for Stockman. He also had mentioned redshirting him for this season so he could come back and compete for time in the next season. It looks like Stockman wasn't quite ready for that commitment, but will still have to sit out a year per NCAA transfer rules.
