Tennessee upsets Kentucky for its best win of the season

Tennessee needed that one.

It is official. The SEC is anyone's league and there is no favorite to win the conference! Tennessee (11-11, 4-5) got its best win of the season with a huge upset of No. 20 Kentucky (16-6, 6-3) at Thompson-Boling Arena. The Vols overcame a 21-point deficit to win 84-77.

Kevin Punter was phenomenal for the Vols with 27 points to lead all scorers and made 10 of his 11 free throws. Armani Moore had 18 points, 13 boards and four assists to help out UT while Detrick Mostella had 13 points off the bench and Admiral Schofield had 11 points and eight rebounds. For Kentucky, Tyler Ulis had 20 points and five assists and Jamal Murray had 21 points, five assists, and five rebounds. Isaiah Briscoe chipped in 10 points while Alex Poythress had 14.

This marked the first time in almost two years that Kentucky had lost back-to-back games too.

And just to show resilient and impressive this win was, we have a nifty stat from ESPN.

Hats off to Tennessee for this win.
