RELATED: Kentucky's loss sets Lexington ablaze
Videos by FanBuzz
Kansas suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of Villanova on Saturday and that could have made for an ugly scene in Lawrence, Kansas. Fortunately, that was the not the case, much like it was in Lexington when Kentucky lost in the Final Four last year. There were even cakes to commemorate it!
Lawrence was a little more low key, but the Lawrence Police Department wanted everyone to know they were aware of the situation. They knew a "crime" had been committed against the Jayhawks, but it was out of their hands.
Sorry, we can't investigate Villanova ripping your heart out of your chest, the crime occurred outside our jurisdiction. #RCJH

What a shame the game wasn't played in The Phog. The police might have been able to do something in that case.
