Lonnie Walker and John Petty are two of the top shooting guards in the class of 2017 and both have a visit scheduled to Kentucky coming up soon. Walker and Petty will visit Kentucky on back to back weekends: Walker on October 21 and Petty on October 28.

Petty is a 6'5", 180-pound shooting guard ranked No. 25 overall in ESPN's class rankings while Walker is also 6'5" but weighs 195 pounds and is the No. 19 overall recruit according to ESPN. Petty was supposed to be in Lexington this weekend for Big Blue Madness, but had to reschedule because of scheduling conflicts.
That bodes well for Alabama head coach Avery Johnson who is the other coach competing for Petty's services and letter of intent. Petty is an Alabama native so grabbing an in-state talent like that would be crucial for Johnson and the program he is trying in Tuscaloosa.
Meanwhile, it's not clear what's going on with Walker, who also scheduled official visits to Arizona, Villanova, and Syracuse. Kentucky's in his top five and Calipari also visited him twice in September, but the Wildcats are not in his 247Sports crystal ball right now.
