UNC downs Pitt at home to grow ACC lead

UNC made that one look easy.

No. 9 UNC (21-4, 10-2) hosted Pittsburgh (17-7, 6-6) on Sunday and got a win pretty handily 85-64. Despite getting outrebounded by 12, the Tar Heels still found a way to shut down the Panthers on defense. They only allowed Pitt to shoot 37 percent from the floor and Pitt only got to the free throw line 13 times —- and made only five of those shots.

UNC shot almost 60 percent from the floor and hit over half their shots from beyond the arc. The Tar Heels had five guys in double figure scoring led by Brice Johnson's 19 points and seven boards. Justin Jackson had 14 points, six assists and four rebounds while Marcus Paige had 15 points. Joel Berry had 13 points and Isaiah Hicks had 10 points off the bench.
