UNC overcomes slow start to beat N.C. State in Raleigh

UNC keeps on moving up near the end of the season.

No. 7 UNC (23-5, 12-3) got a scare from N.C. State (14-14, 4-11), but got the 80-68 win thanks to another monster double-double from Brice Johnson. He had 22 points and 11 boards while three other starters also scored in double figures. Justin Jackson had 17 points, Marcus Paige had 10 ad Joel Berry had 11.

After starting the game down 13, the Tar Heels clamped down on defense and had a 17-point advantage at one point in the second half. Despite NCSU's Cat Barber scoring 32 points, the Tar Heels still held the Wolfpack to 37 percent shooting for the game while shooting 47 percent themselves. UNC next plays at Virginia on Saturday.
