UNC squeezes Orange on late run

That was a close one!

No. 6 UNC (15-2, 4-0) went up to the Carrier Dome and left with a hard fought win over Syracuse (10-7, 0-4) to ruin Jim Boeheim's return to the sideline. It came down to a run in the last couple minutes to put the game away for UNC to win 84-73. Kennedy Meeks had eight points in his return from his knee injury and came off the bench.

Brice Johnson and Justin Jackson each had 16 points with Johnson also tallying eight assists. Marcus Paige struggled hitting only one three-pointer, but dished out eight assists and grabbed six boards. Joel Berry chipped in 14 points, four steals, and four assists as well. However, it was Isaiah Hicks that came up big for the Tar Heels with 21 points and eight boards off the bench.
