UNC's hot shooting lands Tar Heels in Houston as lone 1-seed

UNC was en fuego!

North Carolina and Notre Dame had a fiery first half of shooting. It was a 45-38 score and neither team could miss a shot it seemed.

North Carolina kept it going in the second half as it finished with 88 points on over 60 percent shooting to get the 88-74 win over Notre Dame. Brice Johnson had yet another double-double with 25 points and 12 rebounds. He now owns the school record for most double-doubles in a season with 23, putting Billy Cunningham in second.

Justin Jackson and Joel Berry each had 11 points while Kennedy Meeks had 10 points and Marcus Paige had 13. The Tar Heels made 20 of their 24 free throws with a lot of those coming near the end to ice the game. Demetrius Jackson had 26 points for Notre Dame to lead all scorers and VJ Beachem had 18 points.

UNC became the only top seed to advance to the Final Four and will face fellow ACC member Syracuse on Saturday.
