With loss to Clemson, BC ends up on the wrong side of history

This is not the history Boston College was hoping to make.

Boston College's football team had a pretty bad year going 3-9 and getting no wins in conference play. Golden Eagles fans probably figured that with more conference games and with some teams being pretty bad in the ACC, their basketball team would at least "luck" into a win during conference play. Nope. That's not the case because apparently Boston College can't have nice things. With a 66-50 loss to Clemson on Saturday, BC's place in history was sealed.

I suppose BC was the most likely candidate to make this kind of history. The football team hasn't been good since it was in the Big East and basketball has struggled since after the 2008-09 campaign. Most of the other schools that are bad in basketball in the conference are good at football and in a lot of cases the opposite is true for schools.

That is not the way Boston College was hoping to end the basketball season and it was especially hard since the Eagles had a shot against N.C. State this past week to get a win, but the Wolfpack hit a buzzer-beater to take the win away. Hopefully BC can surprise someone in the ACC Tournament or else it could be waiting another nine months to get a conference win in basketball.
