Iowa-LSU Tickets Not As Pricey As You Might Think

It's a rematch of last year's women's NCAA tournament final, and surprisingly, tickets to the Iowa-LSU game in this year's Elite Eight won't cost you an arm, leg, and eye.

Just the opposite, according to some research from David Hookstead of Outkick.

The game marks perhaps the most anticipated matchup in the history of the women's tournament, with Caitlin Clark and the Hawkeyes squaring off with the team that beat them for the national title last season, and yes, the Tigers again feature Angel Reese. Tipoff is Monday in Albany, N.Y., at 7:15 p.m. EST.

Last year's matchup picked up plenty of eyeballs. This one will undoubtedly feature more.

"The 2023 NCAA final drew almost 10 million viewers — making it the most watched women's basketball game in television history — on April 2 last year," wrote ESPN. "On April 1, 2024, the Tigers and Hawkeyes will meet again."

Anyway, back to the tickets They're not dirt cheap and that's no surprise. But they may not be as expensive as some think.

Per Hookstead, "tickets are selling for $170 on SeatGeek with fees included," and that's cheaper than some of the other games involving Clark and the Hawkeyes. Clark has garnered attention not just for setting college basketball's all-time scoring record — men or women — but also for possibly being the best player in women's history. And if not the best, certainly the most celebrated.

"Why are tickets cheaper than some of Clark's regular season games, despite the stakes and hype surrounding the game?" Hookstead asked.

"The answer is likely very simple. No conspiracy theories or anything crazy. It's just travel and distance. Neither Iowa nor LSU is anywhere near Albany, New York."

That's a pretty solid theory. The winner, of course, advances to the Final Four in Cleveland on Friday. (NC State and South Carolina are set for the other semifinal.)

Iowa? LSU? No matter who you like, there's still time to find a decent seat at a reasonable price.
