The North Carolina A&T Aggies have confirmed the passing of Kelvin Broadhurst Jr. after a motorcycle accident in North Carolina. He was 20.

According to WFMY News 2, the incident occurred on Interstate 40 East in Greensboro, North Carolina. According to police, Broadhurst took the off-ramp to US 29 South around 4:57 p.m. when he lost control of his Ducati motorcycle.
He veered left and hit a guardrail. The hit ejected him from the motorcycle. He died at the scene of the crash due to his injuries. Greensboro Police, Greensboro Fire, and Guilford County EMS all responded to the fatal incident.

Latoya Lyles, Broadhurst's mother, told WFMY News 2 that he had sent her a text message mere minutes before the crash occurred. She then received a phone call shortly after informing her of the fatal accident.
"I was planning his 21st birthday... and it just seemed unreal cause now I'm having to plan his funeral," Lyles told the news station.
A junior at North Carolina A&T, Broadhurst studied electrical engineering at the school's College of Engineering. He also played on the defensive line for the football team.
According to the Aggies' website, the South Carolina native appeared in 28 games between 2023-2025. He tallied 31 total tackles — eight solo — and three tackles for a loss. He added 1.5 sacks.
Prior to joining the Aggies, he played high school football for Dorman in Spartanburg County School District No. 6. He registered 43 tackles, including six for a loss. He added three sacks during his senior year.
North Carolina A&T made Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) available to students following the fatal accident. These services, located in Suite 109 of Murphy Hall, would be available over the phone or in-person during traditional hours. The contact number for Counseling and Psychological Services is 336-334-7727. The hours of operation for in-person visits are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
