The Amway Coaches Poll for Week 2 is officially out, and there is one potentially baffling decision that has been made in the rankings.

After a 4-8 season last year, Notre Dame has now crept into the Top 25 after a Week 1 win over Temple. While in the AAC, Temple is a decent team and Notre Dame crushed them with a 49-16 score. However, ranking them already is akin to Notre Dame’s lofty preseason ranking last year that turned out to be Fool’s Gold. Maybe let the Fighting Irish validate themselves with a win over Georgia first before giving them the Top 25 rub.

After that, Alabama has maintained their No. 1 rankings. The full poll is below.

1. Alabama (59)
2. Ohio State (2)
