4-star cornerback David Long commits to Stanford

2016 four-star cornerback David Long (6-foot, 175 pounds, Los Angeles, CA) informed head coach David Shaw and the Stanford Cardinal of his commitment on Thursday, according to 247Sports.

"First off it's a dream school of mine," Long said. "Coming into high school Stanford is the school I always wanted to go to. That's why I chose to go to Loyola High School, too, because it would prepare me for a school like Stanford. I know I'll get a great education there and I really like Stanford's coaches, too. I love how Stanford plays hard-nosed football."

Long was also considering USC and Washington.

Stanford picks up a very dynamic talent with Long. According to 247Sports, Long runs a 4.4 40-yard dash time and a 38-inch vertical. He also has the grades to survive at Stanford with a 4.0 GPA. Long is Stanford's 13th commitment for 2016, a class that has the Cardinal ranked second in the Pac-12 and 12th overall.
