4-star wide receiver passes up on hometown offer to land at conference foe

They got a good one.

Tre' Turner, a 4-star wide receiver from Northwest Guilford High School in Greensboro, NC, has passed up his home-state school to sign with a conference foe.

Turner had several big schools after him, including Ohio State, Notre Dame, Miami and Florida, just to name a few. North Carolina was also a suitor for the 6-foot-4, 175-pound class of 2018 recruit, but Turner opted to go to Virginia Tech.

Turner is the No. 7 prospect in the state of North  Carolina and the No. 30 wide receiver prospect in the country, according to 247Sports.
