Five-star running back James Cook has been committed to Florida State for nearly a year, but he is still taking visits to other schools and his recruitment is still open. However, he recently revealed that Alabama is no longer on his desired list of schools to visit before next year's signing day.

Since Alabama offensive line coach Mario Cristobal left to take a job as the co-offensive coordinator at Oregon, Cook said he hasn't heard anything from Alabama.
"They don't hit me up like that," Cook told SEC Country's Jeff Sentell at the Miami Opening regional. "They're good on running backs. They're not recruiting me. I haven't heard from them since (Mario) Cristobal left."
Cristobal tried to flip Cook to Alabama, and Cook said Cristobal told him Alabama had the best offensive line in the country.
"He told me that they want me at Alabama and they have the best offensive line in the country," Cook said.
Cook, who is the brother of former Florida State standout Dalvin Cook, is the No. 3 running back for the Class of 2018, according to 247Sports. Mark Pope, a four-star receiver from Miami, was also being recruited to Alabama by Cristobal, but he hasn't heard anything from the Tide since Cristobal's departure. Cook has also been targeted by Florida and Georgia.
