The following recruit is a good example of why recruiting stars don't always matter.
Three-star tight end Alexander Marshall (6-foot-7, 240 pounds, Andover, MA) will be one of the biggest receiving targets in college football, and it looks like several top schools have taken notice. Judging by Marshall's Top 5 that he dropped on Friday, he will be attending one of those top schools.
That is Alabama, FSU, Florida, UCLA, and USC. That's not a bad list at all.
Marshall isn't just a big, bulking tight end; he's got some speed, too. According to 247Sports, Marshall has a 4.71 40-yard dash time on record. Suffice to say, that is really good, and it wouldn't be too shocking if he starts to shoot up the recruiting rankings in the upcoming months.
