6'4" four-star WR Tarik Black spurns Alabama, Auburn with commitment to other powerhouse

Black is the No. 1 player out of Connecticut.

Lose one commitment and gain another? Seems like a sound strategy.

That's what happened to Michigan on Wednesday, as the Wolverines lost a commitment from Massachusett's No. 1 recruit A.J. Dillon. Michigan wouldn't be without a top recruit from the northeast for long, though, as they picked up the commitment from Connecticut's No. 1 recruit, four-star wide receiver Tarik Black.

Black had been favoring Michigan for a while, but visits this season to Auburn and Alabama did mean that his commitment wasn't 100-percent until now.

Black (6-foot-4, 208 pounds, Cheshire, Conn.) becomes Michigan's 21st commitment of the 2017 class. According to 247Sports, Black is Michigan's fourth highest-rated recruit.
