One 2018 class just earned its very first member. On Friday, outside linebacker Mike Jones (6-foot-0, 210 pounds, Bradenton, Fl./IMG Academy) announced his verbal commitment. Jones, who has a number of big-time offers announced via his Twitter account that he was verbally committing to Clemson.

Jones is the very first verbal commit for Clemson's 2018 class. According to 247Sports, he doesn't have a star rating, or a rating among the 2018 class. Jones holds offers from Florida, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Tennessee and several others.
