Despite Alabama commitment, four-star OT Pierce Quick has title contender in his top two

A committed player still being recruited is peak 2018 recruiting.

In what should be considered a weird recruiting maneuver, Pierce Quick committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide back in April, but that has not stopped the the four-star prospect from continuing his recruitment process.

On Saturday, the Clemson Tigers hosted the Alabama commit.

Let's allow all of that to wash over you like a cold shower. A player, who is already committed to a program, visited a campus that is not the one he's currently committed to. And yes, I am also confused.

Here is Quick when committing to Alabama:

"First off, they're the best team in the nation every single year," Quick said. "They have one of the best programs. Second off, I grew up a fan. This is what I've wanted since I was five years old. Since I was five years old I've wanted to play for the University of Alabama, and for that dream to finally come true, it's just incredible."

Oddly enough, here is also Quick, but this time from this past weekend:

"He told me I could come in and be a key part of this class," Quick said. "They are signing one of the biggest classes in a while, maybe ever under Dabo Swinney. They want me to come back and visit anytime I'm available."

When asked about maybe going to the Tigers, Quick said Clemson is "for sure in his top two."

Anyway, Clemson being in his top two is the biggest take from this story. Presumably, Alabama is the other school.

This is weird, right?
