Clemson adds future opponent for 2024 season

The matchup is set!

The Clemson Tigers have added the Appalachian State Mountaineers to their 2024 college football schedule.

Most humans found out about this game via Bruce Feldman on Twitter.

Obviously, this game is six years away. Meaning, in a roundabout way, there are preteens currently trotting about junior high who will be involved in that contest.

While us talking-heads love to speculate, and even with the knowledge of Clemson's recent dominance firmly cemented in our craniums, it is simply too far away to make a prediction for that game.

Members of the Sun Belt, the Mountaineers are coming off back-to-back 10-plus win seasons. This past voyage, Scott Satterfield led his fiery bunch to an overall record of 10-3, and an appearance to its second straight Camellia Bowl. Worth noting, the Mountaineers won both times in that bowl.

As for the Clemson Tigers, Dabo Swinney and company are coming off a 12-2 season, which ended in the College Football Playoff. The season prior, however, the Tigers won the entire shebang.

Nevertheless, we are still six years away from seeing if those pesky, upstart Tigers can somehow defeat the Mountaineers. A nation waits with bated breath.
