Big Clemson OG commit suffers awful injury before senior season

This is just awful for the young man.

Clemson was able to nail down a verbal commitment from elite offensive guard Matt Bockhorst earlier in the year. He's a strong guard at 6'5" and 300 pounds and 247Sports has him ranked as the No. 7 guard in the class of 2017. Unfortunately, Bockhorst seems to have suffered a pretty serious injury.

Bockhorst sent a few text messages to TigerNet on Tuesday morning that the injury was more severe than he thought.

"Just found out I tore my ACL and meniscus in addition to my MCL injury," Bockhorst said. "Pretty rough day. I planted in 1v1 pass pro with a straight leg and knee just gave out."

He was named first-team all-state his junior season. ACL tears usually takes 6-9 months for football players so Bockhorst is likely to miss his entire senior season.
