Bobby Petrino potentially costs team first win of the season

Bobby Petrino pulled a classic clock mismanagement move yet again.

Bobby Petrino can pretty much take the blame for his team losing its first game of the season to Auburn when he called an unnecessary timeout to give Auburn the game. Fast forward to two weeks later and he's doing the same exact thing. With Clemson driving, Petrino had one timeout left and used it after a play resulting in a stopped clock. When asked about it after the game, he was pretty pissed.

He was actually trying to preempt a timeout for the play after that, but the ref misinterpreted the call. Yikes!

It probably didn't help that his returning kicker missed this field goal to tie up the game either.

If Petrino had the timeout left he could have used it on a play where quarterback Kyle Bolin was sacked and the clock kept running. It could have set up a game-tying field goal, but instead Bolin had to snap the ball and throw a desperation heave that was intercepted.
