Clemson gets surprise commitment from four-star power forward

Nice get by coach Brownell on this one.

Clemson got a great rebounder and a phenomenal motor player in four-star power forward Aamir Simms.

He's ranked the No. 14 power forward in the class by Scout and at 6'8" and 215 pounds he's a little undersized for the position. However, he has gotten more comfortable in his post game and has a knack for being in the right place at the right time when it comes to boarding the ball.

Simms would likely play at small forward in college and would have to work on his jumper a bit, but his mid-range jumper off the catch has been improving. Coach Brad Brownell will like having this kid on campus in 2017 and can definitely mold him into a better shooter while he's on campus. The Virginia native was also considering VCU —- who was considered the favorite to land him —- Iowa State, Miami, Notre Dame and Pittsburgh before he committed to the Tigers.
