Clemson locks in four-star safety commit a day early

Brent Venables is clutch.

Isaiah Simmons committed to the Clemson Tigers a day before National Signing Day and that should help out the Tigers big time as they lost three safeties to the NFL and transfer this year. Simmons is a 6'3", 205-pound safety out of Olathe North High School in Olathe, Kansas. Simmons was offered back in mid-January and used the last weekend of official visits to take his to Clemson.

Simmons also holds offers from Michigan, Nebraska, Illinois, Missouri and Minnesota among others. Simmons comes from Venables home state of Kansas so that might have been a factor in the decision. Or it could have been that Venables is a fantastic defensive coordinator and Simmons has the chance to play right away.
