Hobby and Marrone actually have a history as well so the hire isn't totally out of the blue:
#Clemson's Marion Hobby & Jags HC Doug Marrone coached together a few years with the Saints a decade ago.

That potential move coupled with the fact that longtime defensive tackles coach Dan Brooks retired after the national title game could hurt the Tigers, but Feldman is convinced that it shouldn't be too hard to find someone who wants to coach some talented defensive tackles.
Shouldn't be hard for Dabo to get candidates to be a #Clemson DL coach. Work with Christian Wilkins & Dexter Lawrence, among others. Not bad

Hobby has been with the program since 2011 and had a short stint during the 2005 season as well. He played defensive end with the Patriots and Titans from 1986 to 1992 after starring at Tennessee. He also coached at Ole Miss and Duke along with the New Orleans Saints for a couple years in the mid-2000s.
